The Burden of Mobility

Almost 20 years ago, I was a contract staff at an MNC. I was hired for data analysis – it was basically gathering data and demand forecasting of huge printers… single digit forecast was common! Anyway, this post isn’t about printers. The context I was in birth the title of this post… yes, it has taken me almost two decades to put these thoughts down.

By now, mobile devices seem to be attached to our hands. Back then, mobile technology was somewhat novel. It would free us from fixed desks and land lanes. It would allow us to work from anywhere. Anywhere was soon accompanied by any time that soon became all the time. Oops… we were owned. There was no escape now.
